The Code remains the primary document. It sets out the principles around which allegations of misconduct or fitness to practise can be framed. Practice guidance can be used to show when someone fails to follow the Code.
Serious or persistent failure to follow practice guidance may put a worker's registration at risk. Registrants and their employers should make sure they’re familiar with the guidance relevant to their area of work.
We also publish explanatory guidance. These provide more detail on the principles in the practice guidance.
