Fitness to Practise Panel

Decision summary

A Fitness to Practise Panel has found an allegation of assault on emergency workers proved against Nerys Williams, a registered domiciliary care worker.

The Panel, which sat remotely on 19 March 2021, found the following allegations proven:

Whilst registered as a Domiciliary Care Worker and employed by Cartrefi Cymru as a Support Worker:

1. On 15 June 2020, you were convicted in Llandudno Magistrates Court of three separate counts of assault on emergency workers contrary to section 39 of the Criminal Justice Act 1988 and section 1 of the Assaults on Emergency Workers (Offences) Act 2018, for which you were sentenced to a term of imprisonment and to pay a victim surcharge.

AND your fitness to practise is impaired by reason of your conviction for a criminal offence.

The Panel found Ms Williams’ current fitness to practise was impaired and imposed a Removal Order which means Ms Williams’ name has been removed from the Register but placed on the List of Persons Removed and she is unable to work in a registered social care role.

Ms Williams has the right of appeal to the Care Standards Tribunal within 28 days.

A copy of the panel’s reasons are available upon request.
