A registered person can be temporarily suspended from the Register while we investigate allegations or concerns that have not yet been proven. A registered person would be suspended if necessary, for the protection of the public, where it is in the interest of the public or is in the interest of the registered person. These suspensions are called interim suspension orders. Being suspended means the registered person can’t work in a regulated social care role in Wales.
The set period for interim orders cannot be more than 18 months unless extended by the Care Standards Tribunal. Interim orders must be reviewed every six months.
