Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is running a three-hour workshop in February to help shape a new plan for procuring of electronic Medical Administration Records (eMARs) to support the medicines management in care homes.
The aim of the workshop is to discuss and think about:
- Where it will work?
- how it will work?
- what support is needed to put it in place?
The project is driven by evidence of improved patient safety and cost efficiencies from:
- the pilot of a digital medicines management solution in care homes, evaluated by Cardiff University
- the requirements outlined in the NHS Care Home Support and Medicines Optimisation: Community Pharmacy National Enhanced Services paper (2018)
- recommendations of best practice from partner groups groups.
