National Social Care Conference

11 - 13 September 2018
Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Cardiff
Association of Directors of Social Services Cymru & Social Care Wales

This year, for the first time, we are jointly organising the National Social Care Conference (formerly known as the National Social Services Conference) with ADSS Cymru. The conference, which is aimed at senior decision makers and leaders in social care, frontline practitioners and researchers, takes place at the Royal College of Music and Drama in Cardiff from 12 to 13 September.

This year, alongside the traditional conference line-up of plenaries, guest speakers and workshops, we will also be running a series of learning zone sessions. These short informative, engaging and innovative sessions, running in parallel to the main conference, will contribute to continuing professional development and give practitioners an opportunity to:

·      explore current social care policy and practice

·      learn about new and future developments

·      share examples of innovation and good practice.

Registered social care workers can attend these learning zone sessions for a limited promotional price of £15 per half day, which includes refreshments. Attendance will also count towards post-registration training and learning.

Practitioners will be able to choose from a range of learning sessions, covering a variety of topics from preventing abuse of older people, to improving the experiences of children who are looked-after, and working with people with autism.

The ticket will also give practitioners the opportunity to find out more about different aspects of care from dozens of exhibitors, learn about current research and evidence-based practice, and share experiences with colleagues from the sector.

You can download a draft version of the learning zone programme below. There you’ll find details about the many different sessions available, including information about the topics, presenters and times.
