Fully funded social care PhDs available

06 July 2017
Social Care Wales

The Wales School for Social Care Research (WSSCR) is currently accepting applications for PhD studentship awards.

The awards, which are funded by Welsh Government, provide funding for high-quality research and study that leads to a PhD qualification.

The projects must be related to social care needs; the public and people who receive care and support; and/or the organisation and provision of effective social care services in Wales.

The WSSCR welcomes applications in two areas:

  • themed PhD projects that address the research priority areas of care and support at home, dementia and looked after children, with a focus on prevention and early intervention
  • non-themed PhD projects.

The PhDs will be fully funded for three years on a full-time basis or the part-time equivalent.

Applicants must be based at a host institution in Wales and funding is only available for applicants from the UK or EU.

The deadline for applications is 5pm on 15 September 2017. Successful applicants must start their studentships by 1 January 2018.

For more information, please contact Richenda Leonard at r.c.m.leonard@swansea.ac.uk or on 01792 604922.
