A draft of Wales’s first-ever workforce strategy for health and social care has been submitted to the Welsh Government.
The aim of the strategy, which we have developed with Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW), with input from more than a thousand practitioners and others, is to provide Wales with a high-quality and skilled workforce, which is large enough to meet the demands placed on it.
The draft strategy was submitted to Welsh Government after it was approved by the Boards of HEIW and Social Care Wales.
Sue Evans, our Chief Executive, said: “We now wait to hear from the Welsh Government about next steps, including how the final strategy will be published and implemented.
“We were delighted to get so many opinions from a large number of people interested in health and social care in Wales during our extensive consultation about the draft strategy. We’d like to thank you all for your contributions and support,” added Sue.
