Our sessions for practice educators are a chance for you to meet other practice educators and share your learning experiences about the things that matter to you and your role.

Who this event is for

This workshop session is for:

  • practice educators
  • anyone completing the Enabling practice learning course.

What we’ll cover

In this session, we’ll:

  • explain what adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) are and how they affect children
  • introduce you to The Trauma Informed Wales Framework and the Trauma and ACEs toolkit
  • explain what trauma-informed practice is, and how you can use it with children and adults
  • share good practice for supporting social work students who may have experienced trauma.

About the presenter

Bronwyn Roane, National Lead for Strategy, Skills and Training for ACE Hub Wales, will be running this workshop.

She has been in the NHS for the last 12 years, starting as an Occupational Therapist before moving to senior leadership roles.

Her work has showed her why it’s important that people have the right support at the right time.

Bronwyn’s passionate about making services easy to access, and designing services with the people who need to use them.
