Interim orders

Registered persons who are temporarily suspended

A registered person can be temporarily suspended from the Register by us, while we investigate allegations or concerns. These suspensions are called interim suspension orders. A registered person can’t work in a regulated social care role in Wales whilst under an interim suspension order.

Interim orders must be reviewed every six months and can’t last more than 18 months unless extended by the Care Standards Tribunal.

Registered persons with temporary conditions

A registered person can have temporary conditions put on their registration if necessary for the protection of the public, if it is in the interest of the public or in the interest of the registered person.

These temporary conditions are called interim conditional registration orders.

A registered person can carry on working in their registered role while a condition is in place. Interim conditional registration orders can’t be for more than 18 months. They will be reviewed every six months while the investigation is carried out.

Search the Register

You can search the Register of Social Care Workers in Wales  to see if a registered person has an interim suspension order or temporary condition on their registration.
