You may need to change your registration if you work in more than one role that requires you to be registered with us or if you change role.
If you work in more than one role that requires you to be registered with us, or you change from one registered role to another, you’ll need to change your registration.
Not all changes in employment will need you to change your registration, but if you’re working in a different setting or in a different type of role, you may need to change your registered role.
For example, if you’ve changed from
- working in domiciliary care, to working in a care home (or the other way around)
- working with children, to working with adults in a care home (or the other way around)
- being a worker to becoming a manager (or the other way around)
(Deputy managers don’t always need to make a change to their registration, so please check with your line manager if you’re unsure).
You’ll also need to change your registration if you work in more than one type of care role. For example, if you’re a domiciliary care worker and a care home worker.
How to change your registered role
If you need to change your registered role you might need to complete a different qualification to the one you used to register previously. Your line manager will be able to help you check. You can find out more about qualifications you need to register on our Qualifications framework pages.
You can log into your SCWonline account here and you’ll be taken to the relevant page where you can apply for a change in registration or apply for another registration.
