What are HEIs responsibilities in the registration process?
HEIs are responsible for supporting students’ registration with Social Care Wales.
Responsibilities include:
- becoming recognised signatories
- verifying and endorsing applications
- promoting the Code of Professional Practice for Social Care.
HEIs must:
- nominate social work students for registration
- provide us with enrolment and DBS information and let us know about returning/withdrawn or deferred students
- let us know when a student is removed from a programme because of suitability concerns
- endorse final year students’ applications
- exchange information with us
- tell us about any issues around a student’s fitness to practice
- send us the official exam board pass lists signed by the programme director and external examiners
