Get free support to develop your ideas to improve recruitment and retention

| Social Care Wales

Our innovation coaching service is now open for a second round of applications .

We launched the free service in September to help you get the best out of your ideas to improve social care in Wales.

The focus this time around is on supporting efforts to improve recruitment and retention, so send us your ideas and we’ll help you put them into practice.

Our team of innovation coaches are here to support you to test your ideas safely and help them to reach their full potential.

Our expression-of-interest process for projects focused on recruitment and retention is now open.

Please use our recruitment and retention application form if your idea falls into this theme.

We’ll still consider projects beyond recruitment and retention during this application window, so please make an application through our general application form if you’ve got a great idea to improve any aspect of social care.

If you’re not sure whether your project is suitable, our coaches can help you decide whether to make an application. Contact them by e-mailing innovationcoaching@socialcare.wales.

Why should you apply?

  • Our innovation coaching service is free and available to anyone working in a social care role in Wales.
  • You’ll get online support from our team of innovation coaches, who are experts in delivering change.
  • We’ll help you solve problems and build the confidence to continue using your new way of working once the coaching has finished.
  • Everyone who takes part in the coaching service will be eligible to join our ‘coaching club’ – a network of others who’ve been through the same process.

Coaching sessions 'extremely beneficial'

Kate Aubrey, Lead Manager for Practice, Rhondda Cynon Taf Children’s Services, said: “I’ve found the coaching sessions to be extremely beneficial.

"They’ve helped me think about the process of change in organisations - what can help and what can hinder.

"The sessions have also been a chance to pause and reflect with someone thoughtful, encouraging and knowledgeable.”
