National Eisteddfod event to highlight importance of caring in Welsh

| Social Care Wales

The event will showcase the achievements of the winner and finalists from the Caring in Welsh category of the 2022 Accolades, which took place at the end of April.

The winner of the award, Alaw Pierce, Service Manager with Denbighshire County Council, will be attending the event, along with finalists Keneuoe Morgan, Deputy Manager, Hafod Mawddach Residential Home in Gwynedd, and Angharad White, Adult Care Home Manager in Rhondda Cynon Taf.

Deputy Welsh Language Commissioner, Gwenith Price, will also be speaking about the importance of providing care to people in the language of their choice.

There will be an overview of the work we are doing to raise awareness about the importance of the Welsh language in the sector, and the resources available to support care workers. And there will be an opportunity to watch videos of people explaining in their own words what receiving care in Welsh means to them.

The event, presented by our Board Member Trystan Pritchard, takes place in Societies Tent 1 between midday and 1pm.

Everyone is welcome to attend.
