Voting is now open to choose a winner for the 2025 Caring in Welsh award.
The award recognises and celebrates paid workers in social care, social work, childcare, play and early years who provide excellent care through the medium of Welsh.
Six workers have been chosen by an expert panel of judges as this year’s finalists. The finalists are:
- Dafydd Beatie, social worker, Conwy County Borough Council
- Leah Davies, registered manager, Mental Health Care UK Ltd
- Myfanwy Harman, manager, Cylch Meithrin y Gurnos
- Shan Jones, home care worker, My Choice Healthcare
- Sharon Parry, manager of a residential children’s home, Keys Group
- Rhiannon Faulkner, director, Meithrinfa Joio Day Nursery
We’re now inviting members of the public to vote for the person they think should be crowned the 2025 Caring in Welsh award winner.
Voting is open until 1 August. The winner will be announced at a ceremony at the Wrexham National Eisteddfod on 7 August.
Sarah McCarty, our Chief Executive, said: “Congratulations to all the 2025 Caring in Welsh award finalists and thank you to all those who nominated a worker.
“Being able to receive care and support in the language of your choice is an important part of receiving dignified, high quality care.
“We received a high standard of entries and our six finalists show the breadth of excellent care that’s being provided through the medium of Welsh across Wales.
“I’d like to encourage everyone to show your support for the Caring in Welsh award and our excellent finalists by voting for the worker you think should be named the winner.”
