Fitness to Practise Panel

Decision summary

A Fitness to Practise Panel that sat remotely on 30 June 2021 has found the following charges proved against Carlyanne Wilson, a registered Domiciliary Care Worker.

On 20 November 2020 at the Newport Gwent Magistrates Court Ms Wilson pleaded guilty and was sentenced for:

• theft of cash to the value of £250 from a vulnerable user of care and support services;

• fraud in that she used a bank card belonging to a vulnerable user of care and support services, intending to make a gain by purchasing items for herself; and

• for entering the property of a vulnerable user of care and support without consent whilst the individual was in hospital.

The Panel found Ms Wilson’s current fitness to practise was impaired and imposed a removal order which means she will not be able to work in a regulated social care role in Wales.

Ms Wilson has the right of appeal to the Care Standards Tribunal within 28 days.

A copy of the panel’s full reasons are available on request.
