A Fitness to Practise Panel that sat on 21 – 24 September 2021 has found allegations proven against Rebecca Spencer, a registered residential childcare worker, of taking and forwarding photographs and confidential information regarding young people without authorisation. It was also found proved that she engaged in a range of abusive acts towards young people and failed to declare she had been dismissed from employment with a company when applying to register with Social Care Wales.
The Panel found Rebecca Spencer’s current fitness to practise was impaired and imposed a Removal Order which means she will be unable to work in a regulated social care role in Wales. Rebecca Spencer’s name will be taken off the Register and placed on the List of Persons Removed.
Rebecca Spencer has the right of appeal to the Care Standards Tribunal within 28 days.
