Join our free webinar delivered in partnership with Terrence Higgins Trust (THT), focusing on strengthening knowledge, confidence, and inclusive practice across social care.

About the session

Despite significant medical advances, HIV is still widely misunderstood, and stigma remains a barrier for people accessing health and social care services. This session will introduce the “Can’t Pass It On” training resource, we’ve developed in partnership with Terrence Higgins Trust.

The training supports social care professionals to build accurate, up-to-date knowledge of HIV, including the key message that people living with HIV on effective treatment can’t pass the virus on to others (Undetectable=Untransmittable, or U=U)

By increasing awareness and challenging myths, the training helps staff provide safe, respectful and person-centred care to people living with HIV.

What you’ll gain

  • Increased confidence in supporting people living with HIV
  • Insight into reducing stigma in care settings
  • Introduction to a free, flexible training resource for your team
  • The opportunity to hear directly from Terrence Higgins Trust speakers with lived experience.

Lived experience

Speakers with lived experience of HIV will share their perspectives. They’ll provide a powerful insight into the realities of accessing care and the impact stigma can have. You’ll also hear how compassionate practice can make a real difference.

Who should attend?

This session is ideal for:

  • social care managers and leaders
  • frontline care staff
  • workforce development and training leads
  • anyone working with adults in social care settings.

Why this matters

More people are living longer with HIV and accessing social care services, so it’s vital that the workforce has accurate knowledge and confidence to provide inclusive, high-quality care.
