Entries and nominations open for 2025 Accolades

| Social Care Wales

Have you done something unique or innovative that’s made a real difference to the lives of the people you support or your workforce?

Or do you know someone who works or volunteers in the sectors who deserves to be recognised for the fantastic work they do? If so, we want to hear from you!

We’re now welcoming entries and nominations for the 2025 Accolades. This year is the 20th anniversary of the annual awards that recognise, celebrate and share excellent social care, social work, childcare, play and early years in Wales.

So, if you’re a team, group or organisation in the public, private, voluntary or co-operative sectors in Wales, let us know about your achievements and you could be in with a chance of winning a prestigious Accolade.

We’re also looking to celebrate those who work or volunteer in social care, social work or childcare, play and early years in Wales who make a positive difference to people’s lives through the care and support they provide.

We’re asking colleagues, employers, people using care and support or their carers, family and friends to nominate any workers or volunteers they would like to see recognised with an Accolade.

This year, we have six categories – four for teams, projects and organisations, and two for workers and volunteers.

The categories for groups, projects and organisations are:

  • Building bright futures for children and families
  • Developing and inspiring the workforce
  • Working in partnership
  • Working to the principles of strengths-based practice.

The categories for workers and volunteers are:

  • Effective leadership award
  • WeCare Wales award.

Sarah McCarty, our Chief Executive, said: “Social care, social work, childcare, play and early years services provide essential care and support in every community across Wales every day of the week.

“That’s why it’s vital we take this time to recognise, celebrate and share the fantastic work we know is happening across the sectors.

“We’re keen to get as many entries and nominations as possible for the Accolades’s 20th anniversary to help us share those positive examples of services and individuals who are making a real difference to the lives of the people of Wales.

“So, if you’re a team, project or organisation doing something unique or innovative in social care or childcare, play and early years, I’d encourage you to enter this year’s Accolades so your achievements can be recognised and help us celebrate the positive work you deliver every day.

“Or, if you know of someone who makes people’s lives better through the care and support they provide, why not nominate them for one of our awards for workers and volunteers?”

The closing date for entries and nominations is 5pm on 1 November 2024.
