A massive congratulations to WeCare Wales’s Introduction to social care team, which has been chosen as a finalist at the Tomorrow’s Care Awards.
The awards, which are organised by Tomorrow’s Care, celebrate innovative products and services from across the care sector.
Introduction to social care is one of 25 finalists up for the awards.
The programme aims to give those interested in a career in care a flavour of what it’s really like to work in the sector.
Since its launch in 2022, the programme has provided training to more than 1,000 people and have engaged with underrepresented groups and communities.
More than 17 per cent of those who took part in the programme have since gone on to work, volunteer or study in the field.
Voting is now open to choose the winner for the award – the vote closes on 11 March 2024.

“We’re delighted the team has been recognised for the excellent work they do. This nomination is a reflection of the hard work and commitment of the team and our partners – including Careers Wales and community groups – over the past two years to introduce more people in Wales to a career in care.
