The Information and Learning Hub (the Hub) is your one-stop-shop for a range of resources about Wales’s social care legislation.
The Hub features training materials we have produced and delivered with partners as part of a national training programme to help social care professionals put the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 and the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016 into practice.
The national statement of joint working and the accompanying diagram explain the roles of our partners in supporting learning on the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act.
We work alongside the Care and Social Services Inspectorate Wales (CSSIW) to support the implementation of the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act.
The aim of these Welsh Government-funded initiatives is to make sure the workforce is confident and informed to provide social services in accordance with Welsh law, and other relevant laws, and to practise in-line with the principles of the Acts.
The Hub is updated regularly with new information and learning materials, so please check back for the latest updates.
Co-production at work
The Hub and its resources are an example of co-production at work, with a range of partners working with us to deliver learning on the Acts. A Strategic Advisory Group was set up to advise on priorities, give different points of view and assist with putting project plans into practice.
The group made sure we worked in strong partnership to develop a training plan to meet the needs of a diverse workforce. The group included representation from us; the Association of Directors of Social Services (ADSS) Cymru; Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW); Care Forum Wales; Children in Wales; Wales Council for Voluntary Action (WCVA); Welsh Government; Welsh Local Government Association (WLGA); and the Welsh NHS Confederation.
