Social media house rules

Our social media house rules

We run social media channels to help share and raise awareness about:

  • our work, services, initiatives and resources
  • work, services, initiatives and resources that will be of use or interest to those working in social care and childcare, play and early years in Wales.

The social media platforms we use are:

  • BlueSky
  • Facebook
  • Instagram
  • LinkedIn
  • YouTube.

Our rules

We want you to share your feedback, questions, and stories and experiences with us on our accounts.

But we also want our social media channels to be safe and respectful places for everyone.

So to help us do this, we have some simple rules:

  • you’re responsible for any content you post on our channels, including content you choose to share
  • we’ll remove, in whole or in part, posts or comments we feel are inappropriate
  • we’ll report any social media profiles that are set up using our imagery or logos without our permission.

We’ll block and report social media users whose posts or comments:

  • are abusive, offensive or obscene – for example, that are racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic or sexually explicit
  • are deceptive or misleading
  • violate any law or regulation
  • violate any intellectual property rights
  • are spam (persistent negative or abusive posts that are trying to provoke a response)
  • are advertisements or promotional.

We’ll keep details about any public posts that breach our house rules and cause the account to be blocked.

How we manage our accounts

Our social media channels are run by our staff, who have to follow our code of conduct.

We monitor our accounts from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday (not including public holidays) and we’ll try to reply to your enquiry within two working days.

We’ll try our best to help you and if we can’t help, we’ll direct you to others who may be able to help, where possible. But with so many messages, we may not be able to reply to every enquiry.

We do our best to make sure all the information we give you is correct. And if we make a mistake, we’ll quickly try to fix it and give you the correct information.

Let us know if you think we’ve made a mistake or if you see anything you think is inappropriate or you’re concerned about.

We reserve the right to delete our accounts and to update or change these rules at any time.

As a Welsh Government sponsored body, we’ve developed our social media rules based on those on GOV.UK and GOV.WALES.
