Decision summary

A Fitness to Practise Panel has found proved that David John Thomas, a domiciliary care worker was convicted for possessing indecent images of children and an extreme pornographic image.

David John Thomas, at Merthyr Crown Court, was given a 10-month suspended prison sentence and made subject to a Rehabilitation Activity Requirement and a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for 10 years and ordered to register with the police in accordance with the Sexual Offences Act.

The Panel found David John Thomas current fitness to practise was impaired and imposed a Removal Order which means he will be unable to work in a regulated social care role in Wales. David John Thomas name will be taken off the Register and placed on the List of Persons Removed from the Register.

David John Thomas has the right of appeal to the Care Standards Tribunal within 28 days.
