When risk is high and we need to make tough decisions, we can sometimes feel at odds with our strengths-based practice. This session will explore what it means to stay relational when risk is high.
Who this event is for
This session is for social workers with a good understanding of strengths-based practice.
What we’ll cover
In this session, we’ll:
- explore the barriers to staying relational when risk feels high
- consider why relational approaches aren’t in opposition to authority or protection
- think about what it means to stay connected while acting with authority
- reflect on the courage you need to work in relational ways under scrutiny and urgency.
Charlotte Waites will lead this session. Charlotte, who works for Gwrando, has 25 years’ experience as a social worker and works across Wales to support the shift to relational ways of working.
