In this series, you’ll learn what we mean by speaking up safely, the challenges of speaking up and how to create a safe environment.

Who this event is for

This series is for anyone working in the social care and childcare, play and early years sectors. The sessions will be particularly useful for people who are able to influence change in their organisations using what they learn.

What we’ll cover

This series is broken down into three sessions.

In session 1, you’ll:

  • learn what speaking out safely means
  • understand your role and responsibilities from a legal, ethical and process-based perspective
  • discuss the importance of compassionate leadership to support and empower teams to speak out.

In session 2, you’ll:

  • learn the skills needed to create a safe environment
  • learn how to identify a safe or unsafe environment
  • discuss the challenges of speaking up safely.

In session 3, you’ll:

  • learn how to use what you’ve learned in practice
  • learn skills to help you overcome challenges when speaking up safely
  • find out how to use what you’ve learned to support your team.
