Workshop: stereotyping and unconscious bias in the early years and childcare sector

In this session, we’ll look at what stereotyping and unconscious bias mean, how they affect our decision making and how we can challenge discrimination in the sector.

This event is for anyone who works in childcare, play and early years.

In this session, we’ll:

• discuss real-life examples of how discrimination has affected someone’s role in the childcare, play and early years sector
• think about how we can do more to challenge discrimination and create an anti-discriminatory sector
• explore how managers can help staff to challenge discrimination in a professional way
• think about managers’ responsibilities in tackling discrimination.
