Come and hear about the value of linked data research in adult social care

| Social Care Wales

Join us for an event that will highlight the value of linked data research in adult social care in Wales.

Unlocking the power of adult social care data in Wales will be held across two dates – one at National Museum Cardiff on 23 January, and the other online on 6 February.

The events will bring together stakeholders who are interested in collecting, sharing or using adult social care data to benefit the public and improve social care policies and practice.

The Cardiff event will run from 9.30am to 4pm, while the online event will start at 10am and finish at 2.30pm.

Among those attending will be researchers and policymakers, along with representatives from local authorities, independent social care providers, the third sector and the public.

We’ve teamed up with ADR Wales to arrange these events, where we’ll look at opportunities to make the most of adult social care data research.

Both events will feature a range of workshops, presentations and discussions that will explore the role of linked data research in adult social care.

The agenda and line-up of speakers will be similar across both events, including contributions from Albert Heaney, Chief Social Care Officer for Wales, and Mike Emery, Chief Digital and Innovation Officer (Health and Social Care). We’ll make recordings from the online event available for those who can’t attend.

What we’ll do:

  • Welsh Government will discuss the development of adult social care data in Wales.
  • ADR Wales will lead a workshop with us about setting priorities for linked data research.
  • Alma Economics will lead a workshop about our ongoing work with them to assess social care data maturity in Wales.
  • Representatives from the Information Commissioner’s Office, ADR Wales and the SAIL Databank will take part in a panel discussion about involving the public and building trust in sharing data.
  • We’ll launch the adult social care data research group for researchers who are interested in data-intensive research projects in adult social care.
