Croeso to the latest bulletin from Social Care Wales.
We’re proud to support the social care and early years sector – not only through workforce regulation and development, but by working alongside partners to help services improve and thrive.
One of the ways we do this is by sharing the latest evidence on topics you’ve told us matter most, highlighting practice, and offering direct support to organisations across Wales.
Every day, there is inspiring work being done, supporting individuals in communities across the country. We want to celebrate that. One of the highlights of our year is the annual Accolades. It’s a chance to recognise the individuals, teams and projects making a real difference.
We’re excited to launch the call for entries for the 2026 Accolades this month. If you know someone doing something brilliant, we’d love to hear about it.
We know that supporting improvement goes beyond celebration and sharing practice. One area we’ve been working on with partners is looking at how digital tools can enhance services. A new report based on the findings of our digital potential tool has recommended steps that could be taken to boost digital skills and capabilities across social care in Wales.
High-quality care means meeting people’s language needs. With Shwmae Su’mae Day coming up on 15 October, it’s a great time to reflect on your Welsh language active offer and consider learning or improving your Welsh. You’ll find more details in this edition.
This bulletin includes just a few of the resources and opportunities available to you. If you’d like to know more, our friendly employer support service is always here to help.
Thank you for everything you do to support people and families across Wales. We hope you enjoy this edition.
Warm wishes,
Sarah
