Latest Camau Welsh language module now available

| Social Care Wales

We recently teamed up the University of Wales Trinity Saint David to develop a free online Welsh language course for social care workers. We’re now excited to announce that Foundation, the second module in the course, is ready for learners to complete.

The Camau course is available through the National Centre for Learning Welsh’s website and offers bitesize, flexible learning. It focuses on the Welsh words and phrases workers are most likely to need when they’re communicating with the people they support.

The Foundation module builds on the Entry (Mynediad) level module and teaches all the basic patterns of the Welsh language.

The Foundation module takes around 60 hours to complete, in three sections of 20 hours.

If you’re registered with us, it counts towards your continuous professional development and everyone who completes it will receive a certificate.

Sign-up for the course

You can find out more and sign-up for the Foundation course on the Learn Welsh website.

There are two different courses available, as there are slight differences to the Welsh spoken in north and south Wales. Once you have created an account you can start the course immediately by going to 'My Learning' on dysgucymraeg.cymru.

The Entry module, which is suitable for beginners, is also available on the Learn Welsh website.

Join the Camau learners’ community

We’ve also created an online community as a space for learners to connect with each other and share experiences about the Welsh language.

You can discuss how you’re getting on with the course and support each other while using what you’ve learnt to raise your confidence.
