New guidance to help managers support night residential child care workers

| Social Care Wales

We’ve created new guidance to help managers of night residential child care workers support those studying for the Level 3 Health and Social Care: Practice (Children and Young People) qualification.

The Level 3 Health and Social Care: Practice (Children and Young People) qualification is designed for people working in health and social care settings. It develops their ability to practically support the health and care needs of children and young people in a range of settings. It’s practice-based and assesses knowledge and practice through work in the setting.

The guidance shows managers how:

  • to help workers choose the most appropriate units
  • workers can achieve credits needed
  • workers can meet the criteria
  • the qualification is assessed
  • they can support the learner.
