0:10 Our Recovery and Resilience programme is at the heart of our workforce
0:14 strategy, which has been co-produced with our staff based in Merthyr Tydfil.
0:18 It is about making sure that our staff well-being
0:20 is at the heart of all that we do.
0:22 Things can get overwhelming at times with the stress of the job.
0:26 The well-being days allow us to have time to switch off,
0:29 relax and kind of regroup
0:31 and I think the key part is it really allows us to connect as a team.
0:35 So when things are stressful,
0:37 we can really work together because we've built up that morale and rapport
0:40 through being on these well-being days together.
0:43 I think all teams and local authorities and councils would really benefit from the programme.
0:48 And I think it benefits in so many ways in relation to stress,
0:52 taking time out and enjoyment
0:55 and just being connected as part of your team.
0:59 The feedback that I've had from each team member, it's all been very similar.
1:03 It's been about the well-being side of attending the team building.
1:06 Previously in other roles,
1:08 staff may have attended team building exercises,
1:11 but what they fed back is they've always been very work orientated,
1:15 so you’re still having to think about work.
1:17 The difference with this programme is that
1:20 we've attended team building activities
1:22 that have been really fun.
1:23 We've been able to go outside of our comfort zone,
1:26 really kind of push ourselves
1:27 in terms of looking at ourselves as a team from our dynamic
1:30 but in a far more fun way than perhaps we would have done before.
1:34 Their well-being is promoted significantly
1:38 and that's reflected in the low sickness rates and sickness
1:44 that is work related being lower again.
