11 projects and seven care workers named as 2025 Accolades finalists

| Social Care Wales

A Welsh medium nursery in Merthyr Tydfil, a social care worker from Bridgend and a Wrexham-based digital platform that helps people access the care they need are among the finalists for the 2025 Accolades.

The awards, which we organise and are sponsored by the citizen-voice body Llais, recognise, celebrate and share excellent practice in social care and childcare, play and early years in Wales.

The Accolades are open to care workers at all levels, as well as teams, projects and organisations from across the public, voluntary and independent sectors that have made a positive difference to people’s lives.

127 projects and care workers from across Wales entered or were nominated for this year’s awards.

The finalists were chosen by judging panels made up of our Board members, representatives from partner organisations and people with experience of using care and support.

This year, the winners of two categories will be chosen by the public: the Inspirational Leadership and WeCare Wales awards.

All the winners will be announced at the 2025 Accolades awards ceremony at the Mercure Cardiff Holland House Hotel on Thursday 1 May.

Llais is the main sponsor of this year’s awards. The event is also sponsored by BASW Cymru, Hugh James, Life Sciences Hub Wales, Practice Solutions and WeCare Wales. You can read more about our sponsors here.

Sarah McCarty, our Chief Executive, said: “We’re delighted to have such a strong group of finalists that really showcase the excellent care work that’s happening all over Wales.

“Once again, we’ve received an exceptionally high standard of entries and the judges have had a difficult time whittling them down to just 18 finalists.

“This year’s Accolades has given us some fantastic examples of inspiring and dedicated workers, teams and organisations who are providing excellent care and support to some of the most vulnerable people in our communities, showing the positive difference they make to people’s lives.

“It’s vital we take this time to say thank you to our committed and dedicated care workers, and to recognise and celebrate the fantastic care and support being provided every day in communities across Wales.

“Congratulations to the 18 finalists! I look forward to welcoming you all to the awards ceremony in May, and to recognising, celebrating and sharing your wonderful efforts and achievements.”
