We’re delighted by the announcement that the Minister for Children and Social Care has appointed Neil Ayling to our Board.
A former Director of Social Services at Flintshire County Council and a former President of ADSS Cymru, Neil will join our Board on 1 April.
Neil will take up the role alongside five other new Board members, who were announced last spring: Dr Edwin Mutambanengwe, Katija Dew, Dr Odosamawen Progress Igbedion, Isobel Lloyd and Sue Phelps.
All six have been appointed for a four-year term until March 2029.
As members of our Board, they’ll each play a significant role in scrutinising our work and making sure we follow good practice when it comes to our governance.
Mick Giannasi, our Chair, said: “I’m delighted by the announcement that the Minister has appointed Neil Ayling to our Board.
“Neil has had a long and distinguished career in the social care sector in Wales.
“A social worker by profession, Neil has experience in both adults and children's services and has a track record of developing effective multi-agency partnerships at a strategic level.
“He will bring a valuable wealth of knowledge and experience with him to the Board and I’m very much looking forward to working with him.”
