New digital learning resources for infection prevention and control

| Social Care Wales

Good evidence informed infection prevention and control (IP&C) practice is essential for maintaining a safe environment for everyone and reducing the risk of the spread of infection and infectious diseases.

We have developed a set of digital learning modules to help anyone involved in the social care or early years and childcare sector know how to behave to reduce the spread of infections.

There are 3 modules available:

  • Level 00 is aimed at those who are considering a career in social care or early years and childcare, carers and/or families who may be visiting someone in a care setting
  • Level 01 is aimed at people who either visit care settings as a professional for example a social worker, or those who work in care settings in a role which does not provide direct care and support for example an administrator
  • Level 02 is aimed at workers who are providing direct care and support in a social care or early years and childcare setting

You can find a full list of the target audience for each level on the Infection prevention and control page on our website.

The modules are free for anyone to access at Learning@Wales.

You will need an account to access the modules. If you already have a SCWonline account or you currently/would like to work or volunteer in social care or early years and childcare, click the ‘SCWonline/GCCarlein’ button to log in/create your account.

If you do not work or volunteer in social care you can create a new learning@wales account.

If you can’t login using your work address, or prefer to use your personal email address, contact elearning@wales.nhs.uk. to set up an account for your email address. If you have any difficulties, you can also call them or contact them via live chat learning@wales.
