Well-being Week 2026: learn, connect and share

| Social Care Wales

We’re running a week of online well-being events in January to support people who work in social care, and early years and childcare in Wales.

From 19 to 23 January, we’ll be joined by special guests who’ll share information about the things you can do to support your own well-being and the well-being of people around you.

Well-being Week 2026 is a positive space where people in the sector can come together to learn about well-being and share best practice.

There’ll be lots of different sessions to suit everyone – from workshops to webinars – about topics including:

  • a great place to work
  • women and confidence
  • supporting men's mental health at work
  • the power of storytelling at work.

The topics of our well-being week sessions are linked the four commitments of our workforce health and well-being framework.

These are:

  • Commitment 1: create safe working environments which are continuously improving and support health and well-being
  • Commitment 2: fair treatment, dignity and respect for all
  • Commitment 3: establish workplace cultures where everyone is involved and informed
  • Commitment 4: prioritise a culture of continuous learning and development.

Kate Newman, Improvement and Development Manager for Well-being at Social Care Wales said:

“Well-being Week is an opportunity to come together with others in similar roles, creating a shared space to learn, connect, and reflect on how to support both your team’s well-being and your own at work.

We want to offer you something simple but powerful: permission to prioritise yourself. Give yourself the time to join us, even if it’s just for one session. When we take time to focus on our well-being at work, helpful and important change can happen.”

Jen Griffin, Wales Union Learning Fund Area Learning Development Organiser, is taking part in Well-being Week. Jen said:

“Taking time to look after your own health and well-being not only makes a healthier version of you and a happier workplace, it also puts you in the best place to support the people you work with.

“Make yourself a priority and come along to one of the sessions.”
